ABOUT
Dr. Kristeena Jenkins is a psychologist, educator, and social-emotional behavioral
coach committed to advancing equity, emotional wellness, and meaningful change in
schools and communities. Born in Richmond, Kentucky and raised in Louisville, her
lived experiences deeply inform her passion for supporting individuals and families who
have been historically overlooked or underserved.
Dr. Jenkins earned her PhD in Psychology with a focus in Counseling from Tennessee
State University. Her professional background spans clinical practice, K–12 school
systems, higher education, and community-based mental health. Throughout her
career, she has worked closely with children and families navigating behavioral,
emotional, and systemic challenges, with particular expertise in strengths-based
intervention, autism assessment, and caregiver support.
She is the founder of MoreThanATalk, a social-emotional and behavioral coaching
platform designed to help individuals, schools, and organizations move beyond
awareness into intentional action. Through conversation-centered frameworks,
workshops, and practical tools, MoreThanATalk equips youth and adults to navigate
difficult conversations, regulate emotions, clarify values, and make sustainable
behavioral changes. This work is grounded in psychology, restorative practices, and
real-world application.
Guided by both clinical expertise and a strong social justice lens, Dr. Jenkins believes
meaningful change happens when people are given language, structure, and support to
engage in honest conversations. Whether coaching individuals, consulting with
educators, or facilitating community dialogue, she remains dedicated to empowering
others and strengthening the environments where children and families live, learn, and
grow.
